Infinix Hot 60i was quietly launched in Bangladesh a few days ago, and now it has hit one of the African markets. There were some details missing when we covered the device last time. But now, the Infinix website in Kenya has spilled almost everything there is to know about the Hot 60i. Take a look.

This device has a slimmer profile this year, but somehow, it brings a larger battery. Its design is a familiar one, almost identical to the older base Infinix Hot 50. There are three cameras on the back side, each with a square lens. One of them serves no function, so it’s probably a decorative piece.

The two other lenses you see on the back are populated with a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP Depth/Macro camera. The front shooter on top of the display seems to be an 8MP selfie unit. This device is built around a 6.7” IPS panel, which has a 720p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

The display brightness maxes out at 700 nits, so it should provide decent readability under the sun. This Infinix new Hot model may have a better camera and a higher brightness, but it’s stuck with the same Helio G81 chipset as last time. But if you are already on an entry-level phone, the Hot 60i should provide roughly the same experience.

About the power upgrade, it would seem the battery size is now bumped to 5160mAh, and the charging speed is 45W instead of the measly 18W input of its precursor. The phone’s build is secured by an IP64 rating, which means it’s splash-proof from certain angles and protected from dust ingress.

Its durability has also gone up with a reinforced design, which can survive a drop from up to 1.5 meters. They even reduced its weight and thickness down to 7.7mm and 188 grams. There’s an UltraLink feature that allows calls and messaging to a similar device outside the network coverage.

The phone controls electronics with an IR blaster, and there’s an NFC chip within for touch file transfers and payments. The Hot 60i gives buyers a choice of 6/128GB or 8/256GB memory trims, and they cost roughly $115 (~PKR 32,000) and $135 (~PKR 38,000) respectively.
