Infinix Hot 60i, the cheapest member of the Hot 60 crew, has been quietly dropped in one of the Asian markets. There was no press release or a teaser campaign of any kind. Its launch was rather tipped by one of the Bangladeshi residents, who said the phone is already official in the country and readily available for purchase.
The Hot 60i seems to be an iterative build carrying most of the parts the Hot 50i brought last year. Its design, however, is similar to the base Infinix Hot 50. There are three cameras on the back side, each with a square lens. One of them serves no function, so it’s decorative. The others are 50MP main and 2MP Depth or Macro shooters.
The front camera on top of the display seems to be an 8MP selfie snapper. This device is built around a 6.78” IPS panel, which has a 1080p FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Its brightness maxes out at 800 nits, so it should provide decent readability under the sun.
This Infinix new Hot model has a bigger size, more pixels, and higher brightness, but it’s stuck with the same Helio G81 chipset as last time. It’s anyone’s guess how the phone handles 1080p resolution at 120Hz with such a weak chip, but we’ll know for sure once the Hot 60i gets a wider release.
The visual fidelity of the phone has gone up without a doubt, but what about the power? It would seem the battery size is now bumped to 5160mAh, and the charging speed is 45W instead of the measly 18W input of its precursor. Credit where the credit’s due, those are some of the biggest per-generation upgrades we’ve seen in the entry-level segment.
The phone’s build is secured by an IP54 rating, which means it’s splash-proof from certain angles and protected from dust ingress. The Hot 60i gives buyers a choice of 6/128GB or 8/256GB memory trims. They cost roughly $115 (~PKR 32,000) and $135 (~PKR 38,000) respectively.
Again, the Hot 60i was never formally announced and went on sale directly. All the details you see here were pulled from Bangladeshi publications. We pieced them together as accurately as we could, but we suggest waiting for an official listing before forming an opinion. Stay tuned for the Hot 60 series global launch soon.
