Leaked Vivo X70 Press Images Reveal a Nondescript Design, a Flat display and Zeiss Triple Cameras

The Vivo X60 series launched in Spring this year, but its sequel lineup is coming in the next few weeks. Like its fellow BBK subsidiaries, Vivo is also switching to a release calendar with two flagship generations a year. The X70 series, featuring Vivo X70 Pro, standard X70, and X70 Pro+, has been collecting certifications. But we now get our first look at the X70, courtesy of a renowned phone leaker.

The publication MySmartPrice partnered with Steve Hemmerstoffer (better known as @OnLeaks) to release high-quality product mockups for the Vivo X70. The images showcase the phone in a blue-green paint job. In contrast to the fresh design of the Vivo X60, the X70 features a very generic aesthetic.

The backplate has a squared-off camera cutout with three lenses, co-engineered with Zeiss. The display is flat with an O-hole housing and an even, paper-thin bezel. We're looking at a 6.5” Full HD panel with an optical fingerprint scanner hidden underneath.

The frame of the New Vivo mobile phone for 2021 is chamfered and (unsurprisingly) lacks an audio jack. At 8mm of depth, the build is at least 0.6mm thicker. You can also expect the upcoming phone to be heavier.

Vivo isn’t just switching up the design this season. Instead of Qualcomm silicon, the Vivo X70 series runs on a flagship MediaTek chip across the board. The Dimensity 1200 5G works with 12GB of memory and the latest Android11 — FunTouchOS for global markets and OriginOS for the Chinese variants. We’ll have more details when the phone launches sometime in September.
