Vivo X70 Series Adopts Flagship MediaTek Chip; Specs and Pricing Leaked

Following the recent Vivo Y53s launch in Pakistan, the X70 series, Vivo's latest line of flagship phones, is set to a global debut soon. Vivo has already secured a string of product certifications for the X70 phones. As we inch closer to the upcoming launch, the rumor mill gave us their spec sheets.

Courtesy of the credible phone leaker, Digital Chat Station, we learn that Vivo is switching from Qualcomm silicon to MediaTek chips. The Vivo X70 series runs on the Dimensity 1200 5G, MediaTek’s top-end 6nm chipset. This mobile platform powers all three phones in the lineup — X70, X70 Pro, and X70 Pro+.

The source also specifies 12GB of memory (presumably LPDDR5) and a 4200 mAh battery for the Vivo X70. The cell is 100 mAh smaller than the previous generation. It still charges over 33W. But the Pro models should retain their blazing-fast 66W support.

Vivo X60 series made headlines because of its innovative micro-gimbal stabilization. The technology used in the new Vivo mobile 2021 delivers unmatched shake-free video and excellent shots in low-light.

Expect Vivo X70 Pro and Pro+ to integrate gimbal-based solutions into their cameras too. Naturally, the second-gen product would be more polished. For the specs, we’re reportedly looking at a quad-camera array featuring a 48MP wide lens and a periscope-telephoto camera. Plus, selfies are captured with a 32 MP camera.

The front camera is housed inside an O-hole cutout. The screen is a SuperAMOLED panel that peaks at a 120Hz refresh rate and a 1080P resolution. Digital Chat Station puts the expected price of Vivo X70 at CNY 4,000 (~ Rs. 101,000.)
