Apple will keep the Air line going for at least one more generation. Apple iPhone Air 2 is coming. Apparently, they want to give this phone a larger battery, so it runs longer, and put a second camera on it, so it actually fits among its peers. There was a leak on Weibo today that confirmed the exact numbers.

The original Air had a 3,149mAh cell. This was a 5.6mm thin handset, so the premise was acceptable: smaller space, smaller battery. But the Galaxy S25 Edge, which was just a tad thicker (5.75mm), put the iPhone Air’s battery to shame with a 3900mAh pack.
Digital Chat Station has been keeping tabs on Apple’s supply chain, and he has made a prediction that the iPhone Air 2 might actually have a 3500mAh cell this time. That’s around 11% more juice than the last version. In the grand scheme of things, this isn’t a big jump, but it’s better than nothing.

By the way, the iPhone Air 2 is also rumored to be even thinner than the original handset, so a bigger battery on it might actually be impressive. That is, if the leak pans out. And battery wasn’t the only detail the leaker threw in on his Weibo post. Keep up with the Apple iPhone latest prices and choose your favorite model with confidence.

It seems the Air 2 is locked in for a 6.55” LTPO OLED, which means ProMotion 120Hz. This newcomer won’t have the 3nm A20. They’ll put the A20 Pro 2nm silicon on this handset, the very chip they plan on using in the iPhone 18 Pros and Ultra.
The big change with this generation is not the battery or the screen. Let’s just say that the Air 2 won’t get shafted with the shorter end of the stick this time, having just a single 48MP main sensor. We’ll probably see a second 48MP ultrawide unit on the back. We’ll let you know if there are any more updates on this subject. Keep watching the news.
