Starry Orange Color was believed to be out of character for iPhones, yet the 17 Pro and Pro Max both feature this aggressive paint job. Not only that, but many Android phone makers started copying the Orange look. Now the whole color gate is about to repeat with the Apple iPhone 18 Pro series.

We’ve found a new leak on Weibo (from Digital Chat Station) that spilled the iPhone 18 Pro’s Deep Red shade. If the color looks odd and hard to wrap your mind around, you are not alone. This looks like a fan-made render, rather than an official image. But that doesn’t mean the paint job is fake.
Apple likely wants to prompt the same reaction from the industry as it did with the Orange Color. Only this time, it’s the Deep red finish on the front lines. The rumor mill, at least, believes that it could happen. The color is already making headlines before launch. We’ll see an even more adverse reaction when the new Apple iPhone model series is launched.

Of course, we are operating under the assumption that this leak proves accurate. Hopefully, more sources will verify DCS’s claims soon. We’ll see many copycat Android phones trying to steal the iPhone look if Apple does reveal the color. Anyway, other reports on this device bring good news about the Dynamic Island. It’s finally shrinking. The last iPhone Pro had a 20.76mm cutout.

Sources say that the Matrix LED projector for Face ID will be hidden under the screen this time. This could trim the notch width to just 13.49mm. That means the Island cutout is now ~35% smaller. The cutout should be easier to get used to on the iPhone 18 Pro.
The new silicon from Apple will be an A20 Pro die, and it’s built on TSMC’s 2nm process. That’s the chip the iPhone 18 Pro will use. iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will reuse their 6.3” and 6.9” screens. The details are limited, but we expect more leaks to appear soon. Keep watching the news for updates.
