iPhone 17 Series Launch Date and Venue Officially Confirmed by Apple

Apple officially confirms the launch date for the iPhone 17 series. The previous rumors were on point: the company will hold the event on September 9th in California, USA. The media invites have already gone out, and here's what you need to know about this year's iPhone lineup.

The invites are taglined “Awe-Dropping,” obviously pointing to the event being awe-inspiring and jaw-dropping. We’ll see how much of that is actually true. According to the official site, this year’s unveiling is set for September 9th, 10 AM Pacific Time (10 PM in Pakistan). You can stream the event straight from Apple TV or the company’s webpage.

The ceremony will be held at Apple Park in Cupertino, California. Four devices are supposed to hit the stage next month, and one of them is going to be the iPhone 17 Air. The Plus version has been retired due to poor sales performance, and the sub-6mm Air will take its place.

Besides the iPhone new Air model, Apple will stick with the usual variety for its flagship series. We’ll see the basic iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and Pro Max officially debut at the Apple event. Of course, all eyes will be drawn to the new design Apple has cooked up for the upper two devices.

If the leaked renders and dummy images didn’t convince you, Dbrand’s official Tank Case for the new iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will. The camera platform has indeed been changed on these models, now spanning the entire upper section of their bodies.

The lens assortment has not changed, but apparently, the company decided to mount a 48MP ultrawide camera on the Pros, and the sensor size couldn’t fit into a normal square-style lens module. That’s why Apple had to extend the entire platform.

We also look forward to the iPhone 17 Air, which is rumored to have an ultra-thin design close to the 5.85mm thickness of its rival Galaxy S25 Edge. There will be a catch, though, as it’s supposed to use a single lens on the back and a sub-3000mAh battery, which is far from ideal in a modern setting. We’ll see people’s reaction to this device soon at Apple’s September 9 event. Keep watching the news for more updates.
