Apple iPhone 17 Series and iPhone Air Land in Pakistan with Official PTA Approval

Usama Rasool

Apple has launched the iPhone 17 series and iPhone Air in Pakistan with the help of a local distributor. The company doesn’t have official channels to deal with Pakistani buyers directly, but there are a few Apple Authorized vendors you can look for in the market. One such vendor has confirmed the PTA-approved prices for iPhone Air, iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Apple iPhone Air

This thin phone has a category of its own, and deservedly so. After all, it’s only 5.6mm in profile and only weighs 165 grams, which is unbelievably light for a Titanium build. That’s also the reason why the iPhone Air is so expensive.

Direct USD to PKR conversions don’t work with iPhones in Pakistan, since we have PTA taxes to account for. So, don’t get startled when you hear the official PTA-approved retail cost for the iPhone Air and other iPhone 17 models in the local market.

Well, the starter cost for the iPhone Air 256GB is PKR 480,000, which goes up to PKR 563,000 for the 512GB option and PKR 646,000 for the 1TB option. You are paying at least 60% over the MSRP in taxes, and that’s apparently the case for all the latest iPhones.

Apple iPhone 17

This is the simplest one among the iPhones, with a thick 8mm Aluminum frame and the same design as the iPhone 16. They did tweak some things across the hardware. This is the first time a base iPhone has 120Hz Pro Motion LTPO OLED, which definitely calls for an upgrade.

The new Apple A19 chip and 48MP ultrawide camera also make a world of difference, if you were not convinced by the 120Hz refresh rate alone. The RAM is still a puny 8GB, and the battery is still underpowered at 3692mAh. Its PTA-approved prices are as follows.

There is no 1TB option here. You start at 256GB basic trim for the iPhone 17, which costs PKR 399,000. That price is bumped to PKR 482,000 for the 512GB storage upgrade. Again, a dramatic cost difference between Apple’s MSRP and the Pakistani retail price.

Apple iPhone 17 Pro & Pro Max

These new Pro iPhones have refreshed designs, other than the usual camera, battery, and chipset upgrades. The switch from a Titanium to an Aluminum frame was concerning at first, but fans are slowly coming to terms with it. This is a more heat-conductive material, which sits on a VC cooling chamber that takes heat away from its A19 Pro chipset.

All the rear cameras are now 48MP, and the RAM grows to 12GB. Apple copied Samsung and gave these phones an Anti-reflective coating as well, which makes all the difference if you are a consistent outgoer. The prices can be found down here.

The base price for the standard iPhone 17 Pro 256GB is an eye-watering PKR 520,500, and it skyrockets to PKR 603,500 for 512GB and PKR 686,500 for the 1TB memory assortment. Keep scrolling to see the prices for the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The bigger 6.9” iPhone 17 Pro Max model has options all the way up to 2TB. That extreme option has a PTA-approved sticker price of PKR 898,500. Down the ladder comes a 1TB storage variant at PKR 732,000, and then we have the 512GB trim at PKR 648,500. You can go even cheaper and pick a 256GB iPhone 17 Pro Max, and that’ll cost you PKR 564,000. The prices always vary from vendor to vendor, but these are the ballpark costs if you want box-sealed and PTA-approved iPhones in Pakistan.
