iPhone 14 Pro Gold Edition Featured in Credible High-quality Product Renders

We’re months away from the official release of Apple’s next-gen iPhone series. But the rumor mill has been leaking information about the iPhone 14 even before the iPhone 13 dropped. We’ve seen product mockups and other aesthetics-related reports already. And the latest in this string brings us our first look at the Gold edition of the iPhone 14 Pro.

Courtesy of the publication Pigtou, the iPhone 14 Pro mockups showcase the phone from multiple angles. Before we get into the most noticeable design change, note that the new backplate mirrors iPhone 13 Pro’s (more or less.) The same goes for the golden finish on the railings and the glass shell.

The layout of the lightning port (no USB-C this year either), mic, speakers, and the power button remains unchanged too. But Apple has split the unsightly wedge notch into two floating cutouts. The pinhole dot contains the front camera, and the wide pill-shaped cutout houses the sensor array for the 3D Face ID feature.

This dual-notch system will likely become Apple’s most polarizing design choice in recent years. The bezel seems to have shrunken further but don't assume the same for the iPhone's latest price tag. Apple is switching to a 48MP image sensor for the primary rear camera. And offering up to 8GB of next-gen LPDDR5 memory.

However, only the Pro iPhone models will switch to the new front camera layout. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Mini will recycle the old design yet again, perhaps with a few minor changes here and there.
