Honor is picking up the pace of their releases. Following the V40 series, the company has the Honor 50 series lined up for launch. The event is slated for June 16 in China. It features Honor 50, Honor 50 Pro, and Honor 50 SE. The trio’s spec sheets were leaked by 91Mobiles ahead of the launch event.
Honor 50 5G
Honor’s latest line of flagships takes design cues from the P50 series — by the brand’s former parent company Huawei. Honor 50’s cameras are arranged inside two rings that occupy an egg-shaped housing. We’re looking at a triple-camera system: a 108MP wide lens, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and two 2MP macro and depth sensors.
The display curves along the edges and has a single hole punched through its center, containing a 32 MP camera.
It’s a 6.57” OLED panel with a Full HD resolution. Honor 50 is powered by the Snapdragon 778G, a 4300 mAh battery, 66W quick charging support.
Honor 50 Pro
The Pro edition has the same Snapdragon 778G, but it is paired with a 4000 mAh battery. As per the report, the Honor 50 Pro will be debuting with 100W fast charging technology (which reduces charging times down to 25 minutes.)
Honor 50 Pro’s camera system is shared with the standard edition, except for an extra 12MP wide-angle camera on the front. The hole punch is widened into a pill shape to accommodate the dual front camera. Its display is a 6.72” AMOLED panel.
Honor 50 SE 5G
The budget edition in this trio has MediaTek silicon. Dimensity 900 5G chip is at the heart of Honor 50 SE. It’s powered by a 4000 mAh battery and 66W fast charging.
The camera array is made of a 100MP wide lens, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro sensor. Instead of an OLED screen, the Honor 50 SE features a 6.78” IPS LCD with a Full HD resolution and a 16MP on-screen camera.
The source further notes that the Honor 50 series will go global with the Google Mobile Services pre-installed. Restoring Google's software to their phones was a motive for Honor's split from Huawei, so you can expect future models to support Google apps too. Official teasers should be out in the days that follow, according to Mr. Agarwal.
