Honor 500 Pro Leak Reveals 200MP Main Camera and Snapdragon 8 Elite Chip

Honor has plans to release the Honor 500 series either in November or December. The exact date cannot be confirmed at the moment. The first rollout is obviously beginning in China, and back home, both its member phones are under a strict watch by the rumor mill. The latest break came from Digital Chat Station about the Honor 500 Pro’s camera.

Honor 500 Pro is one of those devices that the rumor mill claimed would use a 200MP ISOCELL HP5 Samsung sensor. The leaks started flying way before Samsung released this new camera outsole. Now that it’s out and some phones have already used it, the sensor’s presence on the Honor 500 Pro doesn’t seem to be a big surprise.

DCS puts it in writing in one of his Weibo posts. The Honor 500 Pro will carry the 200MP 1/1.4” sensor under the Main lens. The claim doesn’t guarantee it, but the leaker’s track record is nothing to scoff at. There’s a high probability this leak will pan out.

He gives details on all the cameras, not just the Main 200MP unit. The Honor new flagship model has one extra camera this time, a 64MP OV64B 3x periscope telephoto shooter made by OmniVision. Of course, just like last time, there may be an Ultrawide shooter coming with this phone.

The leaker vaguely mentioned that the Honor 500 Pro may have the biggest battery in its class. We assume he’s only talking about Honor’s numeric series. And yes, this may be true, as the cell capacity on Honor 400 Pro was capped at 7200mAh (in China).

The Honor 500 Pro will one-up its successor with an even larger cell. Or at least, that’s what DCS claims. The last detail on his post was about the CPU. The older device ran a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. DCS says the Honor 500 Pro is bumping the SoC by one generation, as it scoops up the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip this time.

It’s pretty obvious that Honor will try to position this Honor 500 duo against the Vivo S50 and Oppo Reno 15 lineup. From the specs we have seen so far, the new 500 Pro can easily outdo its rivals. We still need to learn about their pricing. Keep watching the news for updates.
