Xiaomi Poco M8 Shares More Details Via Teaser as Launch Draws Closer

The Poco M8 has been given a launch date, if you didn’t already know. Xiaomi has been teasing the phone on social media (set for January 8th), and we know it will be deployed in one of the Asian countries first. We have our eyes on the Xiaomi Poco M8. It was just teased with display specs.

Poco M8 is just the rebranded Redmi Note 15, and all the teasers they’ve been pushing out only solidify that theory. You glance at the front of the Poco M8 in their latest social media post, and you are reminded of the Note 15 again. That’s a curving AMOLED screen. There’s a small punch hole in it.

Poco M8 is built around a 6.77” OLED that has 3D curves on both edges, and the resolution is FHD+ (1080x2392p). 120Hz refresh rate is there. You get a solid 3200nits peak brightness. They say it’s the segment’s most durable display,  but they never even mentioned the Glass type, which makes us skeptical.

Anyway, they’ve already said that the Poco M8 is MIL-STD-810H certified. That’s usually a good sign and typically confirms heat, dust, and shock-resistant design on a phone. The newcomer only has an IP66 rating, though. That means it’s semi-waterproof. Although you may review the Xiaomi rate list in this article, please note that prices can differ based on the region, the retailer, and any current promotions.

The company has drop-tested the Poco M8. It won’t take damage from at least 1.7 meters of height. The phone is actually pretty thin. It’s probably the least thick device Poco has ever released. The profile only measures 7.35mm, and the weight is around 178g.

The specs you have read until now are official. But there hasn’t been a teaser on the chip or camera specs. We did find a retailer listing that verified the Poco M8 has a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. Again, this is just a rebranded Redmi Note 15, so the specs are predictable.

There’s probably a 50MP Main camera on this handset with a 2MP depth mapper. Then comes the selfie shooter, which could be a 20MP sensor. All this hardware is run by a 5520mAh battery. The charging speed is 45W. We’ll be back again with a full review and pricing when the Poco M8 is launched. Keep watching the news for updates.
