Three new models from the Vivo X500 series have been announced today. Open sales start two days from now in China. They’ve already revealed all of their specs on the official site, by the way. Read through these subsections to find details about the base Vivo X500 and both Vivo X500 Pro models.
Vivo X500 Pro Max
This phone is seemingly the best of all three siblings. It obviously has the biggest 6.85” screen that brings a proper 2K resolution and HDR10+ rating. The pixels are pushed at a 144Hz refresh rate. This is an LTPO AMOLED that will clock all the way down to 1Hz. 4,400 nits is the local peak brightness here.
The body is metal, and the backplate is fiberglass plastic. There’s an official IP69 rating on it, so it’s water-resistant. Vivo X500 Pro Max has the biggest battery at 8000mAh (Si/C). This will recharge with over 90W wired input. A 40W wireless charging coil is also installed on the back.
This newcomer has the beefiest tri-cam setup, which also includes a 200MP (f/2.7, 85mm) periscope telephoto lens with 3.5X optical zoom. The main camera is a Vivo x Sony 50 MP LYTIA 910 1/1.28” sensor with a custom 24mm F range. There’s a gimbal-level OIS here. We get a 50MP ultrawide lens on the back. The selfie camera is 50MP on every device.
They’ve put a new Dimensity 9600 Pro 2nm chip on both the Vivo X500 Pro Max and non-Max versions. The chipset does 4.55GHz on the CPU, and the Mali G2 Ultra NX is a new GPU on the block for the D9600 Pro. The phone’s default OS is Android 17 Origin OS 7, and it will get OS updates for the next five years. The base price for the X500 Pro Max is CNY 6,999 (~PKR 290,000).
Vivo X500 Pro
The zoom camera is less exciting, and the screen is a little smaller on the X500 Pro, but it’s still one of the best flagships out there, camera-wise. The screen is a 6.36” LTPO AMOLED. There’s 1.5K resolution on it, and the refresh rate is 144Hz. The Pros actually have the same HDR10+ and Dolby Vision ratings for the display, and they hit ~4400 nits of peak brightness. The frame is metal (aluminum alloy) with an IP69 rating.
This phone has the same 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro chip that’s built around an eight-core 4.55GHz CPU. There’s apparently no 16GB variant for it. The best you get with the X500 Pro is 12GB RAM and 1TB ROM. The storage is actually UFS 4.1 on every sibling. There’s a big gap in the camera setup, though.
Vivo X500 Pro is demoted to a smaller 64MP periscope telephoto 1/2.0” sensor. It’s still a 3.5X zoom, 85mm F-point unit made by Vivo and Sony together. It does have the same 50MP ultrawide unit as the X500 Pro Max and the main 50MP Sony LYTIA L910 unit. It will cover a 17 EV dynamic range.
A smaller 6510mAh cell is installed in the Pro because of its compact design. It is a Si/C battery, and the phone wires it to a 90W wired charging kit and a 40W wireless charging coil. Both Pro versions have WiFi 7 and dual speakers with ultrasonic fingerprint scanners. This also has Android 17 built-in. The base MSRP of the Vivo X500 Pro is CNY 6,499 (~PKR 269,000).
Vivo X500
This is the cheapest version you’ll get on the X500 series at a CNY 5,499 (~PKR 227,000) base MSRP for 12/256GB. It’s cheap due to a basic camera and the “relatively” weaker chip. It doesn’t get the fancy 2nm SoC or the custom Vivo sensor for the main camera.
The screen is a non-LTPO 6.59” AMOLED at 144Hz refresh rate. Of course, it’s also 1.5K resolution with HDR10+ support, but this one’s actually missing Dolby Vision support. 4,000 nits is the rated peak brightness on the Vivo X500. They’ve swapped labels on the chip.
Vivo X500 has a 3nm Dimensity 9600M on the spec sheet, but it’s actually the same D9500 die from last year with a 4.21GHz boost clock and the older ARM G1-Ultra GPU. The performance would technically be the same as the Vivo X300. Its default OS is also Android 17 with Origin OS 7.
The camera is a bit weaker than others. The X500 fits a 23mm 50MP Lytia 828 (1/1.28”) main camera on the rear, which is right next to a 64MP periscope 3X telephoto. There’s also a 50MP ultrawide shooter in the vicinity, and the screen has its own 50MP unit for selfies. The basic version does have a metal build and an IP69 rating. Its battery is 7500mAh Si/C with 90W wired + 40W wireless charging. They haven’t commented on the global availability yet. But we’ll keep you posted.
