Vivo X300 series showed up in China with two devices yesterday, and one of them is a compact model. That’s the version replacing last year’s X200 Pro Mini. We can’t say the design is much upgraded on either device, but they’ve certainly paid attention to the internals. Here’s all you need to know about Vivo X300 and X300 Pro.
Vivo X300 Pro
There’s not a lot of disparity between these two models. The X300 Pro has a bigger screen and more battery capacity to run it. This handset is built around an LTPO 120Hz 6.8” panel, which is a proper flagship screen with all the bells and whistles. The bezels are uniform and thin all around with HDR10+ and 4500 nits peak brightness.
There’s 1.5K resolution on this screen, by the way, and it’s run by a Dimensity 9500 (3nm) processor. This is a new-built chip from MediaTek with a 4.21 GHz clock speed, eight cores, and an Arm Mali G1-Ultra GPU. They’ve probably scrapped the Immortalis line of GPUs. This new platform has 40% better hardware raytracing performance, so the switch was pretty much a no-brainer.
Then we have its usual IP69 rating and Aluminium Alloy casing sandwiched in a glass front and back. The ZEISS logo shows up on the camera once again, T* lens coating is also there, and we meet the telemacro telephoto periscope camera once again with 200MP resolution and 3.7x optical zoom.
There are two other lenses on that circular plateau: one is a 50MP main OIS, and the other is an Ultrawide 50MP sensor. One more 50MP lens sits on the screen, which takes selfies and 4K 60fps videos. The battery is a Si/C 6510mAh cell, and there’s 90W wired and 40W wireless support to bring it back up. The price of the Vivo X300 Pro is CNY 5,299, which is ~PKR 211,000 for the 12/256GB trim.
Vivo X300
They keep the same display specs, but shrink the size to 6.31 inches. It’s an LTPO AMOLED 4500 nits screen. The refresh rate is 120Hz, and the resolution is the current industry standard 1.5K (1216 x 2640p). They didn’t say what glass type protects the screen, but an IP69 rating has been given to the Vivo X300.
Both phones have the new Origin OS 6 and Android 16 pair, as they should. And yes, this one is just as capable as the Pro, stringing along a Dimensity 9500 SoC. The starter model is 12/256GB (UFS 4.1). The RAM type wasn’t confirmed. This is a cheaper model at the end of the day, so they did make some changes to the camera.
The X300 also has a 200MP OIS sensor, but it sits under the main lens, not the telephoto. This phone drops the periscope telephoto to 3X zoom and 50MP resolution. And no, it doesn’t work as a telemacro. Still, you have that 50MP ultrawide (AF) that you can use for close-up or wider FOV shots. They keep the 50MP selfie standard on both phones.
Vivo X300 shrinks the body, and the battery size grows smaller with it. There’s only a 6040mAh cell here, which should still have one day of endurance. The wired 90W and wireless 40W chargers are also identical across both models. Each device levels up to WiFi 7 and has an Ultrasonic fingerprint. Vivo X300 is obviously cheaper, and the base version starts at CNY 4,399 (~PKR 175,000).
