Vivo V60 Launch Timeline & OS Details in Serious Doubt After a Fresh New Leak

A previous leak claimed that the Vivo V60 might debut with OriginOS for the first time outside China. The source also gave up a launch date set for August 19th. However, we have found a new report that contradicts both facts about the Vivo V60 and suggests that the launch might happen sooner than expected.

A leaker on X made a wild claim a few days ago that Vivo’s new V60 might be the first to bring the Chinese OriginOS to an international market. But, according to a report from SmartPrix, this phone will stick to its roots and arrive with the FunTouch OS 16 (Android 16) in all the global markets.

As for the launch details, the publication writes that Vivo V60’s debut might be set for August 12th, which is about a week earlier than the previously reported launch date. Folks at SmartPrix also shared the phone’s specs in the same report, and here’s what we found.

We may see a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip inside Vivo’s new flagship model, a perfect upgrade over last year’s SD 7 Gen 3. The storage type will be UFS 2.2, but the report didn’t mention the exact size of its built-in memory. The source goes on to confirm Vivo V60’s display and battery specs as well.

Apparently, the phone has a 6.67” AMOLED on the front. It’s a 120Hz panel with 1.5k resolution and 1300 nits peak brightness. The phone’s renders will show you a flat profile and a design similar to the Vivo S30, except for the ZEISS logo on the camera module.

Speaking of cameras, we may find three 50MP sensors on Vivo V60. On the front, there’s a 50MP selfie camera. Flip it over and you will see a 50MP Main shooter on the back and a 50MP 3X periscope telephoto, which is a first for the V series. The fourth and last sensor will be an 8MP Ultrawide unit.

The newcomer is supposed to launch with a 6500mAh battery that you can plug into a 90W fast charging adapter. It also has an on-screen fingerprint ID, dual speakers, and an IP69 waterproof rating. Vivo V60 might cost between $430 (~PKR 122,000) and $465 (~PKR 132,000). We’ll cover this phone in depth when it officially unveils on August 12th, so stay tuned.
