A Tecno phone was added to the Google Play Console database last night. It was actually one of the Pova devices that made an entry there. This visit should be taken as a sign. Tecno Pova 8 5G is almost ready for its official launch. Here are the things we found on the listing today.
There were quite a few details on the GPC listing for the model Tecno LK6 or the Tecno Pova 8 5G. The first major feature is in the name. This newcomer has 5G carrier support. We also saw a render on the listing. It was just the front view, but we can confirm it’s a flat screen.
The resolution of said screen would be 1080x2344 pixels. The GPC didn’t have much to give away in that category, but it did have everything we needed to ascertain the newcomer’s performance. Tecno new Pova mobile has at least 6GB RAM on the base version.
Hopefully, there are more memory trims for it. By the way, Geekbench also revealed the same RAM. The CPU performance will come from a MediaTek chip. This Pova 8 5G is actually built around a Dimensity 7100 SoC, so you are basically looking at a 2.5 GHz boost clock with 8 cores and Mali G610 GPU.
We are quite familiar with this MT6858 chipset. It was seen on the Honor 600 Lite 5G. There are already a few more phones out there that use the Dimensity 7100. It takes the AnTuTu scores all the way to 700K and above. Geekbench scores are usually in the 1000 (single-core) and 3000 (multicore) range.
GPC didn’t have any other information. But there was another helpful listing in the TUV database. It had all the battery information. The older Pova 7 only had a 6000mAh battery, which was okay at the time. But they are moving way past the capacity with the next model.
Pova 8 5G will jump straight to a 7750 mAh battery size. We usually categorize any battery over 7000 mAh as a two-day runner. This newcomer can do even better. We can’t help but suspect a launch approaching fast after the GPC listing. Keep watching the news for updates.
