Samsung Galaxy S26 Tipped to Be Lighter and Taller; Galaxy S26 Plus Remains Unchanged

We’ve heard all about the design tweaks for the Galaxy S26 series this year. They are changing how the cameras look on the whole lineup. It seems the vanilla Galaxy S26’s design has changed slightly more than the others. The newcomer is taller than before and way lighter. We found the exact details in a leak alongside Galaxy S26+’s dimensions.

These size details are from Android Headlines, but we also found a comparative chart on GSMArena’s site. Going purely by the numbers here, it seems the Galaxy S26 now houses a much bigger 4,300 mAh battery in a 137g frame. The older S25 had a 4,000 mAh cell and 162g (weight).

The phone is taller now, and the new 149.6mm length actually stretched the screen size to 6.3 inches. Before this, the Galaxy S25 was 6.2” with a 146.9mm length. Newcomer S26 is also a bit wider (71.7mm vs. 70.5mm). You’ll feel the difference only if the devices are placed side to side.

Samsung latest flagship mobile is just as thin as the S25 at 7.2mm. Seeing that they managed to add 300 mAh without adding any bulk is still a huge feat. This is not the case with the Galaxy S26+ at all. Every single dimension of this new phone is identical to the older Galaxy S25+.

The S26+ is still 7.3mm thin. It’s built around a 6.7” AMOLED. 158.5mm length is mentioned in the leak with 75.8mm width. And the weight is also kept consistent at 190 grams. And those wondering about the battery should know that it’s still 4,900 mAh on the Galaxy S26+.

By the way, did you know that Galaxy S25 had 25W charging last time, while every other Galaxy S25 device around it got upgraded to 45W, even Galaxy A56 and A36. Galaxy S26 will fix that with an official charging upgrade to 45W. It’s the same as Galaxy S26+ now.

Galaxy S26 Ultra will pull ahead because a certification has confirmed a 60W charging kit built in. We have also had verification about the series’ Qi 2 wireless input upgrade and Satellite Communication. There’s plenty to look forward to. Keep watching the news for updates.
