Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Receives June 2026 Security Patch to Address 45 CVEs

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE is a phone from 2023. It had Android 13 by default and was only given 4 years of OS updates. Android 17 is probably the last OS build the phone will see. Though it will keep getting security patches for the next several months. Galaxy S23 FE was just hit with the June 2026 update.

The update had reached Korea as of last week. But we had to wait until the global rollout for a detailed breakdown. They are now pushing the update on S23 FE devices in some Asian and European countries. That means the June 2026 patch should reach Pakistan in days.

The new firmware they are putting on the Samsung new FE model has a serial code S711BXXSGGZF2. This was shown in the Changelog, by the way. The size of the update was also found there. It’s just a 282.40MB OTA package, pretty convenient to download and install.

They’ve squeezed in 45 security fixes in this very small update. Not all of them are from Samsung, though. Google has put a list of 33 common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVEs). Five of them are said to be critical, and the rest are high severity. The update has patches for all of them.

Samsung had its own 12 patches to deploy with the June 2026 update, bringing the total to 45. It’s not just security, by the way. The performance is also optimized. They also got rid of several bugs. So the system should be snappier and more stable. The changelog should have more details if you need specifics.

You should “Check for Updates” first by going to the Software Updates menu in Settings. A Changelog might appear in the menu after they’ve unlocked the update in your region. Read it thoroughly before committing to the update because it’s irreversible. Then you push the Download and Install button. You can leave the rest up to your Galaxy S23 FE. The phone will restart and boot up with the updated firmware.
