The upcoming Fan Edition from the latest Galaxy S series reportedly debuts in October. But Samsung is still securing product certifications for the Galaxy S21 FE. It showed up once again on the Google Support page, updating its Augmented Reality support status.
The official support page for AR Play Services (previously known as ARCore), where every Android device supporting this feature is listed, includes the Samsung Galaxy S21 Fan Edition. Since it’s a simple list of names, it doesn’t detail any relevant system specs.
Luckily, a string of leaks preceding this tip has already painted a complete picture of the S21 FE. Leaked press images show the new FE wearing at least four finishes: mint, black, white, and lavender. The screen, surrounded by an even, thin bezel, has a hole punched through it.
The body of the upcoming addition to the Samsung price list is IP68 rated, which features an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, a high refresh rate, Dolby Atmos-certified dual speakers, Samsung Pay, and even wireless charging. A separate Google listing identifies two different variants for the Galaxy S21 FE: one powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 and the second by Samsung’s own Exynos 2100. At 4500 mAh, its battery size is 500 mAh larger than the cell inside the Galaxy S21. Plus, it supports faster 45W charging.
Samsung typically rolls out S-series Fan Editions 7-8 months after the original trio launches. So while official sources have yet to tease its arrival, we expect the S21 FE to launch in early October.
