Samsung Galaxy S21 Fan Edition Delayed Until January Next Year, Multiple Sources Report

Rumor has it that the Korean manufacturer is unveiling the Fan Edition of the Samsung Galaxy S21 series at the Galaxy Unpacked event slated for October 20. But conflicting reports have emerged predicting otherwise. Multiple industry sources tweeted that Samsung has yet to put the S21 FE into production. So we will not see it launch until next year.

This delay was first reported earlier this month by SamMobile. The publication noted that the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE won't debut until January 2021. Still, some were expecting the S21 Fan Edition to launch at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked 2.0.

Ross Young, the display supply chain executive, says that Samsung Galaxy S21 FE will go into production in December. Max Weinbach of Android Police backs up Mr. Young. The leaker John Prosser also shared an actual release timeline.

As per the source, Galaxy S21 Fan Edition will be announced on January 11, 2022. Its addition to the Samsung price list will not be marked by a dedicated virtual event but a press release. By the time the Fan Edition comes out, Samsung will be lining up the S22 series for release.

We attribute this setback to the ongoing global chip shortage. That said, every relevant detail for the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has already appeared online. We learn through a string of leaks, rumors, and product certifications that the new Fan Edition runs on the Snapdragon 888 or Exynos 2100, based on region.
