Samsung Galaxy A04e Gets Listed in NBTC and Indonesian Telecom Database; Launch Underway

It seems that the entry-price Galaxy A04 is knee-deep in Samsung’s relentless spree of spin-offs and remakes. The brand launched the Samsung Galaxy A03 last year, following up on that Galaxy A04 was unveiled about a month ago, and recently A04s made its way into the line. Since all phones are entry-range, they mostly feature similar specs with slightly changed designs.

Based on the brand’s latest entry in NBTC and Indonesian Telecom certification websites, another A04 spin-off is in the works, this time under the moniker Samsung Galaxy A04e. The listings unveil several notable details about the phone. Here’s a brief overview.

The NBTC certification mentions Galaxy A04e under the model “SM-A042FS/DS.” The tag “DS” in the model number implies Dual-SIM slots. The NBTC document reveals the phone with GSM, WCDMA, and LTE connectivity, suggesting unavailable 5G support and a 4G-enabled chipset under its hood. The dual-SIM option mostly depends on the region.

The Indonesian Telecom Certification link doesn’t reveal much about the new A Samsung mobile. However, the listing does unveil A04e’s slightly changed model number SM-A042F, which could mean a single-SIM option for the respective region.

The same model number, “SM-A042F,” appeared on the Geekbench listing before, but the moniker was slightly misconceived; instead of A04e, the phone was going by the name A04 core. Regardless, here are some details that Geekbench disclosed.

A04e runs the Go edition Android 12 by default. It has a MediaTek Helio G35 engine, powering the phone with eight cores clocked at a base 2.30 GHz frequency. Accompanied by PowerVR Rogue GE8320 GPU, the processor aligns with 3gigs of total RAM. The phone’s camera, battery, and display specs are still under wraps. We’ll add an update as soon as more info appears.
