Samsung's commitment to keeping its low-cost smartphones up to date is awe-inspiring. While other companies may neglect their aged entry-level models, the South Korean Chain rarely forgets. Case in point, Samsung Galaxy A01, a throwback from 2019, has just started receiving the latest March 2023 security patch.

It goes to show how loyal Samsung is to its customer base. Users can access the latest features and security updates regardless of how old or cheap their phones are. Galaxy A01's March 2023 update knocks back over 50 emerging vulnerabilities to your files and information.

The OTA bumps Galaxy A01's firmware version to A015U1UES5CWC1. While it breathes new life into your privacy and user experience, the update lacks new features. Still, for a device such as re, bug fixes, and stability improvements are more than anyone could hope for.

Currently, the March 2023 update is doing rounds in the US. Soon, it will start rolling out to Samsung's latest budget model, the Galaxy A01 devices in Pakistan. Upon availability, your phone will likely notify you — if it doesn't, Check for it manually by navigating to Settings > Software Update section.

Galaxy A01, announced late in 2019, came out of the box with an Android 10 OS. In the years to follow, it received Android 11 and 12. Unfortunately, major OS updates won't go any further for A01. However, in light of the chain's promise, it will continue receiving security patches until the last of 2023.

The latest update streamlines its hardware further. In specs, A01 features a 5.7 inch IPS display, an HD+ resolution, Snapdragon 439 SoC, 2GB + 32GB memory hub, 13MP dual rear camera setup, a 5MP selfie shooter, and a 3000mAh battery.
