Samsung Galaxy A01 Officially Arrives in Pakistan; A Notched Design on a Budget

Samsung introduced its most affordable entry-level smartphone for 2019 -- the Samsung Galaxy A01, back in December, and the phone has now officially made a debut in Pakistan.

Available for a budget-friendly starting price in stores nationwide, the all-new Galaxy A01 touts a trendy notched design with a dual-camera setup on the back.

We wouldn’t call the look exactly bezel-less since the chin is somewhat heavier, but you’re looking at a 5.7-inch HD+ Infinity-V TFT display that stretches from one edge to the other, at any rate.

As is customary for entry-level devices, the phone sports a polycarbonate frame with a matte-like plastic rear shell (which might feel a bit out of place for 2020.) A01 is 8.3 mm thick, and you can pick from black, blue, and red color options. Samsung lopped off the fingerprint reader (a cutback made to keep the price tag low), but you can still use face detection to unlock your device.

Embedded in this rear panel is a vertically-stacked twin-camera that features a 13-megapixel lens, alongside a 2-megapixel depth sensor that offers live focus. Housed inside the notch is a modest 5-megapixel selfie shooter.

You cant find many smartphones in the market with low Samsung Prices, A01 is a low-end device and the internals stay modest too. Under its hood, the Galaxy A01 offers an unnamed octa-core processor clocked at 2 GHz and 1.45 GHz, combined with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of onboard storage that is expandable up to 128 GB with a microSD card. You’ll probably have to expand it since the storage available to the user is only 8 GB.

Finally, Powering this hardware is a 3,000 mAh power cell (but there’s no support for fast charging) and an Android 10 layered with OneUI 2.0.

As per the Korean tech giant’s official Facebook Pakistan page, the new Galaxy A01 will be retailing for a very competitive Samsung price of 16,500 PKR.
