Redmi Note 17 and Note 17 Pro First Official Teaser Shows Complete Design Overhaul

Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 series is going for a more conventional look this time. Older generations had huge camera blocks on the back. Sure, they looked unique and made the phone recognizable from a distance, but the design was getting repetitive. This is the new look for the Redmi Note 17 and 17 Pro, which was officially revealed today.

Some of you probably know that the company wants to launch the Note 17 series this month, in July. They’ve started teasing the devices. Note 17 and 17 Pro were first to appear with official renders today. All the images you see here come straight from the source.

The squircle camera block that took the entire upper-half segment of the device is gone. The Note 17 and Note 17 Pro have consolidated lenses at the corner in a small camera island. Now, because the lenses are not in the center anymore, camera wobble is also coming back.

We have seen so many Oppo and Vivo devices with an eerily similar look to the Redmi Note 17 series. We’re afraid these newcomers are just going to blend in with the rest of the Chinese handsets. But this may be a blessing in disguise. See the latest Xiaomi Price catalog before making your next purchase.

We assure you that some huge upgrades are coming with the Note 17 and 17 Pro. The design change and consolidated camera seem to be a result of a bigger battery on these handsets. There are reports of a 9000mAh battery on the base Redmi Note 17.

They’ve put a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chip on the vanilla, and the Pro would probably get a faster Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 that has only been seen on the Honor X80 Pro Max so far. By the way, both phones are supposed to ship with 50MP main cameras.

200MP and 108MP main cameras are also gone from these standard devices. They’re probably getting Android 16 Hyper OS 3.1. We might see the base Note 17 with a 6.83” flat OLED at 1.5K resolution. The charging speed would likely be 67W. They’ll launch the Note 17 and Note 17 Pro any day now. Keep watching the news for more updates.
