Redmi Note 15 Series Unveiled with Leading Chipsets, 50MP Cameras & Sleek Designs

The Redmi Note 15 series has landed in China today. Xiaomi surprised everyone by announcing the vanilla “Redmi Note 15” with the rest. The “Redmi Note 15 Pro” sits in the middle. And of course, we have the “Redmi Note 15 Pro+” at the lead with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC. All their specs are covered in the sections below, so keep reading.

Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus

This model has a quad curve screen and almost non-existent bezels. The size is 6.83” with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s an AMOLED, so you get deep inky blacks. And it records peak brightness at 3200 nits, which is bright enough for both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision content.

It sets a new bar for smartphone durability. The Pro+ is an IP68/IP69 rated phone, which is already one step above the older model. The newcomer takes it a league further with the company’s internally tested IP69K rating that keeps it safe in two meters of deep water for 24 hours.

The camera gear has been reused on the Note 15 Pro Plus. You get a 50MP (Light Hunter 800) telephoto 2.5x unit, among the 50MP main and 8MP ultrawide shooters. Its selfie cam is 32MP. Let’s hope the global market gets the same setup this year.

The biggest upgrade on this phone is its 7000mAh battery, which is wired to a 90W fast charging input. Then we have a reverse charging at 22.5W, which turns it into a power bank. It brings Android 15 from the get-go, and everything runs on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip.

For such great hardware, the newcomer’s price is pretty modest at $278 (~PKR 79,000) for the starter 12/256GB trim. And the rumor mill was right about satellite connectivity coming to the budget Redmi series. There’s indeed a Redmi Note 15 Pro Plus Satellite version, which will cost $348 (~PKR 99,000) in China.

Redmi Note 15 Pro

The standard Pro gets flatter around the edges, but the panel specs remain identical. It’s 6.83” with 1.5k resolution on a 120Hz AMOLED. A 3200 nits peak brightness level and the HDR10+ content support are common across both versions, not to forget the IP68/IP69/IP69K water protection ratings.

The “Pro” seems to be missing a telephoto lens, relying only on the 50MP main and 8MP ultrawide sensors for your photos. Plus, the selfie shooter goes down to 20MP. Be that as it may, the phone still shoots 4K 30FPS videos, since it packs the latest and greatest Dimensity 7400 Ultra chip.

It’s also running Android 15 out of the box, Hyper OS 2.0 skin, powered by a huge 7000mAh battery. The charging, however, is cut down by half on the Pro version at 45 watts. No audio jack or SD card support is available in the Pro-class, but you do get access to screen fingerprint ID, IR remote, and NFC chip. The Note 15 Pro (8/1256GB) gets slapped with a $208 (~PKR 59,000) sticker price.

Redmi Note 15

The endurance gets worse as you get to the non-Pro version. There’s only a 5800mAh battery and 45W charging on the Note 15. They redesigned it to look like the other members. Curved edges are a bonus, with a 6.77” OLED screen that peaks at the same 3200 nits peak brightness as the rest.

This one falls back to an FHD+ (1080p) resolution on a 120Hz panel. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip is up to the task and should have no problem handling the screen or the phone’s operating system. It boots to an Android 15 x Hyper OS 2.0 homescreen by default.

Don’t get confused by its quad lens design. The phone has a solo 50MP LightFusion 400 sensor on the back with an auxiliary 2MP depth unit. The selfie camera is dropped to a measly 8MP resolution. Its chassis is sealed tight and rated for IP66 water protection, though you lose an Audio jack because of it.

Redmi Note 15 is the only one that lets you install an SD card to expand storage. There’s a Dolby Atmos-tuned dual speaker array on it for 300% louder audio. When it comes to the price, this newcomer is insanely cheap with $140 (~PKR 40,000) retail cost for the 6/128GB memory.
