Poco X8 Pro and Pro Max Teaser Spills Battery Capacity and Charging Details

Poco X8 Pro and Pro Max are about to debut. Only three days are left till the countdown hits zero. They’ve finally revealed the names of the devices and their batteries in a new teaser. The numbers are exactly the same as the rumor mill predicted. This is what we learned.

It has now been confirmed that only two devices will be revealed from the X8 Pro series. We don’t need to guess the names anymore. The same promo images also gave up the battery size for each device. One has a ridiculously higher battery capacity than the other.

The cheaper model will be the Poco X8 Pro, and its battery is modest by Chinese industry standards. It’s 6,500 mAh. Coincidence or not, the Redmi Turbo 5 also has the same battery capacity. We’ve only been guessing that the Poco X8 Pro is the Redmi phone rebranded. The teaser makes it more obvious.

The other one is the Poco X8 Pro Max. The battery on this handset is actually 2,000 mAh bigger than the basic Pro version. The teaser shows 8,500 mAh capacity, and that’s exactly the same as the Redmi Turbo 5 Max. It’s fair to assume that the higher-end Pro Max is also a rebranded device. By the way, here is the Xiaomi rate list of smartphones, which you can check out.

The charging input on each device is 100W. So the X8 Pro with a smaller battery should charge faster. Not that it matters, since both phones replenish in under 1 hour. The X8 Pro Max is especially advertised with 6 years of battery health and 2 days of endurance per charge.

More official images were posted on Poco’s accounts in the last few weeks. Some of them had the chipset details for the X8 Pro series. Again, the ranks matter here. One of them is a pure flagship, and the other is a semi-premium handset.

The SoC they’ve decided to put on the X8 Pro is Dimensity 8500 Ultra. It’s snappy and almost as powerful as the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. The performance will be even better on the Poco X8 Pro Max. It has a Dimensity 9500s, which is basically an underclocked D9500. More details are bound to appear in the next few days. Keep watching the news.
