There has been a major leak on the Poco M8 series. The launch is far, but that hasn’t stopped the rumor mill from spilling secrets about the lineup. We already know that Poco M8 and M8 Pro are actually just rebranded Redmi Note 15 and Note 15 Pro. Some of their expected features were exposed on Twitter by Paras Guglani today.
Nothing can be said about the pricing. That secret is well hidden. But 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage have been leaked for the basic version. We can’t think of any reason why the Poco M8 Pro can’t have the same storage assortment.
Still, the fact of the matter is that the leaker didn’t specify any storage/RAM combo for the Pro version. Xiaomi's latest Poco models are said to launch after January 6th. Paras Guglani’s leak didn’t have much, but Sudhanshu Ambhore had plenty of useful details that are accurate and reveal everything about these devices.
There seems to be a 6.88” OLED screen on the Pro model. It’s 1.5K, and the pixels are pushed at 120Hz. There’s also a chance that this device will show up with an 8MP ultrawide and a 50MP Main camera. The phone’s thickness is about 7.9mm.
The selfie shooter on the Pro version is pegged at 32MP. A Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 is powering the system, and it’s run by a 6500mAh battery. There’s a 100W charging support for backup. They are also dropping an IR blaster on the device, just like the Redmi Note 15 Pro.
The Poco M8’s setup is rather simple, as it uses FHD+ resolution on a 6.7” OLED. We might see the same 50MP Main camera on the vanilla M8, but it will only have a 20MP selfie. Of course, the SoC is weaker, and the cell is smaller on this standard model.
Poco M8 pulls the load with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. Its battery is 5520mAh. A 45W charging support is there for backup, of course. The leak says Android 15, Hyper OS 2, but there’s still a chance they will change that to Android 16 by launch. Keep watching the news for updates.
