Oppo Reno 15c is likely the cheapest option in the series. That’s usually a position designated for the F variant in the family, but they’ve changed tactics this year. This model was officially teased at the Reno 15 launch event. Now we’ve found the Reno 15c in a major leak.
Oppo called the Reno 15c an entry-level choice, but that’s a modest description of it. Digital Chat Station says this newcomer has a 6.59” LTPS flat OLED, so it’s definitely premium. It’s power efficient and pretty sharp at 1.5K resolution. The screen pushes the pixels at a fast 120Hz refresh rate.
This phone seems to be a midranger by all accounts. There’s a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 inside the Reno 15c. That’s an 8-core 4nm silicon, by the way. It peaks at up to 2.8GHz clock speed. It’s second only to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, so the chip is definitely one of the winning points for the Reno 15c.
They are about to pair the SoC with 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage (possibly UFS 3.1). The leaker also commented on the Oppo’s latest Reno mobile camera, and three of the sensors mentioned are 50MP. The front and rear main lenses use 50MP outsoles. Part of this imaging system is an 8MP ultrawide unit.
But most of the buzz will be around its 50MP telephoto lens. There was another leak on the same topic by Bald Panda. He said that the telephoto is a Samsung ISOCELL JN5 module. If this truly is a replacement for the Reno 14F, the jump from 2MP macro to 50MP telephoto is a big one.
There are at least three colors on the way: Aurora Blue, College Blue, and Starlight Bow. DCS claimed that Reno 15c should bring 80W fast charging, though he didn’t comment on the phone’s battery size. There’s no ultrasonic fingerprint here to keep the prices in check. They'll stick with an optical FP.
Design-wise, expect this phone to look like its other siblings. Oppo has already teased the phone, so there’s nothing so secret about its appearance. One more thing they’ve officially confirmed is the timeline. The date isn’t specified, but Reno 15c will land in China in December.
