In the wake of its Malaysian retail, Oppo's brand new budget contender, A17, has paved its way to the European market. The all-new OPPO A16 descendent is of mediocre value in terms of specs, but its design, screen-on-time, and photography are generous enough.

The feature sheet does show potential for its Pakistani debut, but there is no official word yet. The OPPO A17 has a faux leather finish and a slender frame. It looks like an all-out premium device except for the front. Designed with a blend of flat metallic edges and round corners, it features Lake Blue and Midnight Black soft pastel colors.

Moving to the front: with its waterdrop notched border layout, the 6.56-inch IPS display offers HD+ resolution, 100% DCI-P3 color accuracy, and a standard refresh rate of 60Hz. The black borders around the screen remain chunky, leaving it with an 83.3% screen-to-body ratio.

On the Latest OPPO 4g Mobile, MediaTek's Helio G35 SoC - an octa-core chip with a maximum clock speed of 2.3GHz - provides the horsepower. The 12nm fabricated chip hooks to a 5000mAh cell under the hood. The A17 offers Super Power Saving Mode and Super Night-time Standby for extended battery life since it limits the recharge to a slow 10 watts.

There are two individual camera mounts on the back, one with a 50MP primary sensor and the other with a flash + 2MP secondary sensor. The A17 runs Android 12-based ColorOS 12.1 natively.

With European regulations in force, this could be Europe's last Micro-USB driver; albeit, the phone still provides an IPX4 rating alongside 8.3mm depth and 189 grams of weight. The latter's new retail contains an Orange variant as well. Tagged with €176 (~ 38,500 PKR), it provides a sole 4+64Gigs memory configuration.
