We now have DxOMark’s latest camera rankings. Their leaderboard was just updated with the top 10 devices. They put the iPhone 17 Pro in the top 3. Vivo X200 Ultra has been pushed down to the 4th slot. It seems Apple’s new camera system has made quite a difference.
iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max have been updated to an all-48MP camera system. It’s probably one of the reasons why the Pro ranks so high on the leaderboard. Huawei Pura 80 Ultra is the king of the hill. It has been there for the past few months. No one’s touching its photo and video performance right now. DxOMark gave it 175 points.
Oppo Find X8 Ultra is the second best with 169 points. Its dual periscope 50MP telephoto sensors make it the most diverse camera phone out there. Then comes our headlining phone. DxOMark gave the iPhone 17 Pro a 3rd rank. It’s sitting on that leaderboard with a 168 score.
Vivo X200 Ultra comes in at fourth. We learn that the new iPhone Pro model edges the Vivo phone in video quality. Still, simple photography is far better on the Vivo device. iPhones have always been more reliable video shooters.
Their ranks have been decided based on average photo and video scores. But DxOMark’s camera tests are more skewed towards video results. Vivo X200 Ultra has a subscore of 173 on photos. Sadly, we only have 168 points on the iPhone 17 Pro. Again, neither has bad cameras. But photoshoots are better on the X200 Ultra, and video quality is better on the iPhone.
171 average points scored by the iPhone 17 Pro in the video category are far too impressive to ignore. Its main and ultrawide camera videos sit at the top. Only the telephoto video quality takes a hit. That may be because of the first-gen 48MP sensor they used here.
What we can surmise from these results is that the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are the best at video. Android phones are still better in photography. We have some new flagships coming this month. So DxOMark’s rankings will update again. Keep watching the news so you don’t miss any updates.
