Honor has been working on a device that has a 10,080mAh battery. That’s something you would normally see on tablets. The phone will be called Honor Power 2, and the company has been teasing that device for the past few days. Earlier promos had already verified the size of its battery. Its IP ratings were just confirmed in one of the teasers today.

The Power 2 is completely waterproof and dustproof. This newcomer starts at IP68 and levels up the durability to IP69 and IP69K ratings. You would typically just need an IP68 rating to pass the water submersion test. But these Chinese companies have been pushing the limits in that department for some time now.

We’ll break down these ratings so you can put the phone’s durability into context. The basic IP68 rating gives any device the ability to resist water for 30 minutes at depths of 1.5 meters. And it keeps them completely safe against dust ingress.

IP69 adds high-pressure water jets into the mix. And the IP69K rating means the device can resist high-temperature pressured water jets as well. Honor's new flagship mobile has all three ratings, which pretty much ensures that it’s safe from dust ingress, water immersion, high-pressure water, and high-temperature jets.

The new Honor Power 2 is more or less a midranger by design. But it can easily trade blows with the likes of Galaxy S26 Ultra and iPhone 17 Pro in the durability department. Not only that, but it also has more backup, as the company recorded 20.3 hours of constant screen-on time on this newcomer.

They say the Honor Power 2’s battery will last 20.3 hours when the phone is constantly being used. This handset has at least 22 hours of short video playback on the phone’s 10,080mAh battery. You can do gaming for up to 14.2 hours on this device, if that’s your cup of tea.

The battery deserves most of the credit, but we shouldn’t forget that the Honor Power 2 also brings a Dimensity 8500 chip that’s probably a 4nm platform, with incredible efficiency. There’s also an LTPS 6.79” OLED panel here that also saves battery on the Power 2. This newcomer will launch in China on January 5th. Keep an eye out for more updates.
