Honor Power 2 now has the record in its segment. The company has just made this phone official with a 10,080mAh cell. And no, this is definitely not a thick rugged phone by design. It’s actually just a regular-looking device that only measures ~8mm in profile.

They had to use a Si/C battery on the Honor Power 2 to reach these numbers. A 10,080mAh battery in a phone that’s just your average 8mm build goes beyond anyone’s expectations. They say this newcomer will run continuously for 20 hours. We assume they are talking about mixed usage here.
The video playback has been reported to be 26 hours. The latest Honor flagship mobile can do gaming for 14 hours straight, which is one hour more than the OnePlus 15. That device actually has the current battery record in the flagship class. Of course, it also uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and LTPO to help with efficiency.

Honor Power 2 doesn’t have LTPO tech, or LTPS for that matter. These could’ve bumped the efficiency even more on the device. Sadly, those are missing from its 6.79” AMOLED. The screen can hit 8000 nits of brightness with an HDR Vivid rating. The resolution is 1.5K, by the way. And the pixels are pushed at a 120Hz refresh rate.

This newcomer does have that IP69K rating that the company teased a while ago. It’s also IP68 and IP69 rated, and all three certifications make this Honor Power 2 high-temperature, high-pressure water jet-resistant build. The chassis is metal with a 7.98mm depth.

It doesn’t have the flagship chip, but it’s close with a Dimensity 8500 Elite chip. A little bit about this new SoC: MediaTek bumped its primary core clock speed to 3.4GHz, and there are three extra power cores with a 3.2GHz boost clock. The GPU is Mali-G720 MC8. This silicon hits 2.4 million points on AnTuTu.
There’s only a 50MP Main camera and a 5MP ultrawide shooter. The selfie cam is 16MP. Photography is clearly not the focus here. The power pack is backed by 80W fast charging, and you can plug in other accessories to it. Honor Power 2 has a 27W reverse wired input too. The newcomer’s starting price is CNY 2,699 (~PKR 107,000) for the 12/256GB trim.
