Samsung’s One UI 8 Beta is coming to several Galaxy A devices. The company provided a list of the models participating in the beta program, and the Galaxy A55 is one of them. The phone was just seen on Samsung servers with preliminary details about its One UI 8 test firmware.

The Android 16 beta has been in the testing phase for quite a while. We’ve seen the One UI 8 build on a couple of Galaxy S devices, but never in the A series. The wait will be over soon, as Samsung has already disclosed its intentions to roll out the updates next month.

A source on X gave away the firmware information. Tarun Vats keeps an eye on the Samsung test server for changes, and the Galaxy A55 was just added to the list. The phone’s firmware will be called “A556EXXUAZYH4.” The prefix “A556” seems to be the actual model number.

Although the official list is proof enough for Samsung new 5G mobile’s One UI 8 beta, this new update from Samsung servers should clear any remaining doubts. The contents of the update remain hidden from the general public. This is a beta program at the end of the day, so expect some regional restrictions.

Assuming you already own a Galaxy A55, you should be logged into the Samsung Members app, consent to providing user feedback, and then sit on the waiting list to be chosen as a beta tester. Galaxy A36 is reported to commence the One UI 8 beta in the US, UK, and Korea. We believe it’s the same story for Galaxy A55 as well.

The stable Android 16 x One UI 8.0 build is already found on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7. Some UI elements will surely cross over to the A series. Galaxy A55 may spice up the lock screen and fine-tune the UI for stock apps. There isn’t much in the way of new features, but “Now Briefs” is a recurring theme on every device.

One UI 8 beta testers mentioned features like a split-screen app switcher and reminder updates. Samsung even made a few tweaks to the Quick Share UI. Of course, there are several other features on the update that haven’t gone public yet. Let’s wait for the official beta rollout to begin for a more in-depth look.
