Samsung Galaxy A55 Gets Patched with June 2025 Security Update

After receiving the One UI 7 with Android 15 at its core, the Galaxy A55 is back on a monthly update schedule. It’s now picking up the June 2025 security patch across the Middle Eastern, Asian, and African markets. This crucial update targets several vulnerabilities discovered in the current firmware.

We’ve found this patch on a Galaxy A55 variant that’s sold in the Philippines, Malaysia, and Vietnam. These are likely the first countries to receive the update. The June 2025 patch comes with a firmware code “A556EXXU8BYF3.” The number varies ever so slightly from region to region, so you might see something different on your phone.

Of course, the update will soon expand beyond these countries in a few days, so we should see the June 2025 patch land in Pakistan eventually. You can keep track of the update by going to Settings >> Software Updates on your Galaxy A55 and tapping the “Check for Updates” button.

When your Samsung A new model receives the latest OTA package, it should send you an alert about an available update. It will prompt you to “Download and Install” the new firmware on your Galaxy A55. Be sure to read the Changelog before you commit to the June 2025 security update.

As always, some of the new patches in the update come from Samsung, and others are deployed by Google to keep the core Android 15 secure. The company targets at least 19 vulnerabilities that were recently discovered in its One UI software.

A $1 million bounty was set for anyone who roots out the discernible security issues in Samsung’s operating system. They did manage to find some high-risk vulnerabilities, but none of them were critical. Nonetheless, this June update should patch all of those security issues.

It’s only the first round of annual OS updates for the Galaxy A55. There are still at least three more Android versions on the horizon for this phone. It will be receiving an Android 16 x One UI 8 soon, but there’s no telling when it might happen.
