Two major upgrades are coming to the vanilla iPhone 18, one predictable, and the other not so much. They’ve obviously added a new and more efficient chipset to the newcomer. But a leak today just confirmed there’s also a bigger battery on the way for this device.
The price gouging doesn’t end. It was bad enough that the iPhone 17 got a $100 price hike last year. And now the sources predict another jump in cost. Maybe the upgrade will make the price hike worth it. A leaker on Weibo gave up some specs for the new Apple iPhone 18.
DCS said that the iPhone 18 will be a 6.3” XDR OLED phone. The size would be small again. And there’s no tiny Dynamic Island here. This newcomer would get a regular dual notch, like the one on last year’s iPhone 17. The Pros will remain the only iPhones with a shrunk Dynamic Island.
Anyway, the screen could be a Super Retina 1.5K resolution display again. The big upgrade DCS predicts is the Apple A20 silicon. This is apparently a 2nm chip from the same class as the A20 Pro. There will be Face ID at the front, of course. That’s what the DI is for.
They’ve put two cameras on the back again, both 48MP units. And there will be a new large camera bar-style island on the back. That’s where the two lenses go. We’ve been seeing Apple iPhone Latest model renders on the internet. We’ll put some in this post as well.
DCS ended the post with a huge claim. It says a larger battery is coming to the iPhone 18. There wasn’t an exact figure. But we assume this could add a few more hours of screen time to the handset. The price is about to go up again for this basic iPhone, says DCS. Keep watching the news for more updates.
