Apple iPhone 14 Pro & Pro Max Unveiled with Dynamic Island Cutout, LTPO Screens & A16 Bionic

With September 2022 event concluded, Apple has unwrapped four new additions to the iPhone series; the iPhone 14 Pro & Pro max, the iPhone 14, and, more importantly, the iPhone 14 Plus, a surprise twist from the company — putting an end to the compact iPhone mini.

In an unexpected move, Apple renews the Plus edition iPhone, making the Plus and iPhone 14 Pro Max equal in size. In Apple's language, "Plus" usually refers to a bigger battery and screen, like with iPhone 8 plus. In front, the notch distinguishes the base and Pro iPhone 14.

With the notch removed, the spotlight feature of this year's Pro iPhone lineup is "Dynamic Island." It hides the disturbing dual-hole cutout on the screen with a UI-based stylized notification tray. Without leaving the app, it lets the user interact with sticky notifications, such as a voice recorder, timer, and music player, providing a whole new set of features to the iPhone.

This year, Apple Inc is adding an Always-On display option to the Pro screens. Both are Super Retina XDR OLED builds with Scratch-resistant ceramic glass + oleophobic coating protection.

Moreover, the Pro (6.1-inch) and Pro Max (6.7-inch) screens are "LTPO" 120Hz. It's the same technology Samsung uses with their phones to scale the refresh rate up or down, depending on the usage, saving the battery a few blows. The screen brightness can reach 2000 nits, the highest ever recorded on a smartphone.

The long-suspected 48MP primary camera on Pros is now officially confirmed by authorities. With Apple's new Photonic Engine combined with a 65% larger sensor, the cameras will improve low-light performance by a whopping 49%. The true-depth sensor on the front also gives the selfie cam a 38% low-light quality boost.

Apple Inc has brought four new skin colors for the 14 Pro and Pro Max. On top of that, the tech giant is bringing its new A16 Bionic silicon to the Pro models. As far as the iPhone's latest price and availability is concerned,  the 14 Pro starts at USD 999, while the 14 Pro Max begins at USD 1099. Pre-orders will go live on September 9th, and by the 16th, both will be available for purchase in company-specified regions.

Here are some new & improved features added to the iPhone 14 lineup. Emergency SOS via Satellite, the holy grail of connectivity. MagSafe, Photonic engine, and Action mode. Crash detection, where iPhone uses sensors, cameras, and mic to sense if the user got into an accident and take action accordingly. All iPhone 14's feature 5G, HDR10 screens, and IP68 dust & water protection.
