Poco C85, the rebadged Redmi 15C, has revealed its design in a new leak. The device has been cleared for launch by regulators in the UAE, Thailand, and Indonesia. Even the American FCC gave it a green light. The official debut is right around the corner, and we get an early glimpse of its design from XpertPick.
The company falls back on the old design strategy. The newcomer Poco C85 doesn’t have the circular camera unit anymore. It’s a square camera bay with possibly two cameras, a single LED flash, a few decorative elements, and some text that reads “50MP AI camera.”
The brand name is stamped at the bottom, and right beside it, a stylized font confirms it’s a Poco C85. One of the images showed the phone’s front design. It maintains the ugly notch and chin on the display, identical to the former Poco C75.
There’s a single speaker setup on Xiaomi Poco new model — it’s completely blank on the top. The only speaker grille you can find is at the bottom with a single Mic and USB-C port flanked by a 3.5mm Audio jack. Black, Mint, and Purple are a few color options that showed up in today’s leak.
The source also mentioned some specs, though we suggest you take them with a hint of sarcasm until the company verifies. This Poco C85 has an HD+ 720p panel, sized at 6.9 inches. It’s an IPS LCD; you won’t get those deep inky blacks, but it does bring a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth transitions.
Per the leak, the screen is rated at 810 nits, which should be plenty of brightness for indoor and outdoor visibility. It sticks with the same Helio G81 Ultra chip as last year, though it does offer a bigger battery and faster charging in an 8.2mm chassis.
The battery size goes up to 6000mAh (from 5160mAh), and the phone’s charging speed is now rated at 33W (from 18W). There was no IP rating on the previous model. Well, that changes with Poco C85’s IP64 splash and dustproof design. The phone’s launch schedule will be unveiled any day now. Keep watching the news for more updates.
