Xiaomi Poco C85 5G Gets its First Official Teaser; Global Launch Around the Corner

Don’t get confused by these new Poco C85 teasers. We know that the device is already out there, but it has only been seen in a 4G variant so far. The same model was also launched in Pakistan in October. There’s a Poco C85 5G variant coming to the global market, and the company just started its promotion in the subcontinent.

The banner clearly says, Poco C85 5G Coming Soon, which puts the phone on a launch trajectory. This teaser was found in one of the Asian countries. They didn’t reveal any specs here, but the hearsay suggests Poco C85 5G is just a rebranded Redmi 15C.

The phone’s design pretty much confirms that rumor. Redmi 15C looks exactly like the Poco C85 5G, except for the darkened camera Island. That’s usually Poco’s way to distinguish its devices from the Redmi line. If this is in fact the case, we don’t need to wait for the company to announce its specs.

Xiaomi Poco's new models could use a Dimensity 6300 chip. That’s the cheapest option on the market right now to unlock 5G on budget devices. It also gives the handset a bonus performance upgrade over the 4G variant.

The screen will be a notched 6.9” IPS LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate. This is only a 720p HD+ panel, by the way. The brightness on this screen will hit 810 nits, which is serviceable, but the display’s visibility will suffer in direct sunlight and well-lit areas.

Redmi only deployed 4GB or 8GB RAM with the 15C. The same may be true for the Poco C85 as well. The fingerprint reader will be on the side. There’s probably just a single bottom speaker on this handset. A 3.5mm audio jack is also present here. It only passes an IP64 durability rating, just like the 4G variant.

Just so you know, because there's already a Poco C85 4G variant in Pakistan, it's unlikely this 5G device will enter our market. These two versions do share most of the specs, including a 6000mAh battery and 33W fast charging, so you aren't missing much. There’s no official comment on the C85 5G's price yet. They will probably keep it a secret until the phone’s official debut. Keep watching the news for updates.
