Xiaomi Poco C85x Unveiled With Massive Battery, Android 16, and 120Hz Display

Xiaomi isn’t done with the Poco C8 series yet. A new phone titled Poco C85x has been introduced to the family. It’s actually an extension of the original Poco C85. This newcomer has an updated design and a bigger battery. It even grabs the new Android 16 Hyper OS 3.

The original Poco C85 was 5G and built around a Dimensity 6300 SoC. That doesn’t change on the Poco C85x. The same chip is found on this newcomer. It has eight cores and a 2.4GHz boost clock, which essentially means it is a pretty decent entry-tier phone.

The screen has a notch, not a punch hole. An 8MP selfie camera sits inside. It’s a 6.9” IPS LCD with thick bezels and a chin. It won’t look modern, but at least the Poco C85x has a decent size to enjoy content. The resolution is HD+ with a 120Hz refresh rate.

You’ve read the chipset details, and they do sound great. But we do have to warn you that the performance is held back by the phone’s 4GB RAM. Poco C85x will let you pick 64GB or 128GB of storage. There’s an SD card slot for backup, in case the built-in space isn’t enough. To get updated on Xiaomi phone prices and features, visit our website.

The chipset and battery stats are alike. They gave this device a 6,300 mAh power pack. Poco C85x is intended to last more than a day. Refills will take time, though. The newcomer only supports 15W chargers. It’s an underrated feature, but the C85x also has reverse 7.5W charging.

The accented camera island looks premium, but it’s all for looks. There’s only a single 32MP main camera on the back. An auxiliary lens is there for assistance. Poco C85x doesn’t have an AMOLED, which is why the fingerprint ID is pushed to the side.

There’s a single speaker and a headphone jack at the bottom, next to a Type-C charging port. The WiFi is dual-band. Xiaomi has priced the Poco C85x (4/64GB) at $120 (~PKR 33,000), and the other (4/128GB) trim is priced close to $130 (~PKR 36,000).
