Xiaomi 18 Pro Max to Gain Dual 200MP Cameras with LOFIC HDR 3.0 Support

We are still months away from the Xiaomi 18 series debut, though it hasn’t stopped the rumor mill from unfurling the company’s plans for it. A new leak just exposed a few important details about the camera setup on the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. Apparently, there’s a huge upgrade on the way. This is everything we found.

Digital Chat Station revealed these camera details on Weibo. So we know they have some validity. The source is usually accurate with such leaks. The tipster has come across an engineering sample of Xiaomi 18 Pro Max. It bears a dual 200MP camera setup. This is an insane jump over the 50MP camera stack we saw on the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max.

Now, we don’t see any brand name that made the sensor. It could be Sony or Samsung. We did, however, find that it is a 22nm 200MP 1/1.28” Main outsole. The sensor opening, by the way, is bigger than S26 Ultra’s 200MP 1/1.3” camera. That’s not even the best part about this lens. This 200MP unit also has Xiaomi’s third-gen LOFIC HDR 3.0. They’ve also implemented LOFIC high-gain frame rate here with ultra-high dynamic range support. The lens is a GP glass plastic build, of course, and the optical lens coating should be from LEICA.

That same lens can snap standard macro shots or close-ups with such a large aperture. Even if the camera does pixel binning down to 4X. There’s still potential to get 50MP images out of it. Now, the leaker also said that it’s a true flagship dual 200MP imaging system.

The leaker talked about the main camera and didn’t mention any other details about the second 200MP lens. But we assume it could be a telephoto shooter. Reports say it will also have a built-in macro/close-up autofocus and a bigger aperture for light intake.

Some reports also commented on the battery. Xiaomi 18 Pro Max could repeat a 7500mAh cell. And the screen might shrink to just 6.8.” A chipset upgrade is also on the table. They’ll switch to the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 across the entire Xiaomi 18 series.
