Xiaomi 17 Ultra Camera Specs Leak; Upgraded Optics, Better HDR Performance Expected

Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is a nice addition to the family. But, if you were thinking it has replaced the Ultra variant, that may not be the case. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is still coming. In fact, there are two separate versions on the way. We’ll probably see this device in the Chinese market in the next few months, but for now, a leaker has exposed all of 17 Ultra’s camera details.

We bet there’s a question lurking on every fan’s mind right now, asking how powerful the camera hardware can get on the Ultra phone now that the company has a rear screen to consider. Xiaomi always puts the most bleeding-edge cameras on its Ultra phones. That’s been their tradition for years.

Well, Digital Chat Station has made it very clear that the 17 Ultra will maintain a top-of-the-line quad camera system on the back, regardless of whether it has a rear screen or not. There will be three 50MP sensors and a single 200MP camera.

All those new sensors are probably of the same orientation as the current Xiaomi 15 Ultra. The leaker posted on Weibo that the main camera, which is probably another 50MP outsole, is an ultra-high dynamic range super sensor. This is probably a long-winded way of saying better HDR performance.

The post gave a rather short description of the latest Xiaomi Ultra mobile’s periscope telephoto lens. A new optical technology or a lens stack may be used on top of the 200MP outsole. That’s not the exact word-to-word translation of his leak, but it’s a close guess.

DCS goes on to mention that the remaining two lenses are your conventional cameras: a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP standard telephoto. The leak doesn’t end here, folks. There was a rather curious end remark on his post that you should know.

Digital Chat Station thinks that there are two versions of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and one might have some experimental yet revolutionary imaging features that the other won’t. That’s a completely vague statement, so we may have to disregard it until the internet has more credible reports on this subject.
