The Xiaomi 17 family is populated with four devices. That is already one extra model over the previous series. The latest handset to join was the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. That’s usually where they put a full stop to the series, but apparently, there’s one more device in the Xiaomi 17 family that no one knew existed.
Digital Chat Station has found details about a fifth “iterative device” in the Xiaomi 17 family. The name of that handset is unknown, though one thing the leaker did assure is that it’s a flat screen 6.8” to 6.9” model, and its screen might have very narrow bezels.
The others showed up with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and this alleged fifth sibling in the group will also use that same platform. There’s also a periscope telephoto shooter on the Xiaomi new Ultra mobile back, so it’s really following in the footsteps of Xiaomi 17 Pro and Ultra.
There’s obviously not a lot that can be ascertained from DCS’s report. But this lead is certainly worth following up on. Surely, more leaks will start showing up on this device after today. We’ll know the name of this handset soon enough.
Digital Chat Station is confident that this mystery newcomer will show up within the first half of 2026, so there’s a fair amount of time before something solid has surfaced about this device. We assume this device walks the thin line between the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max and the Ultra.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the best phone for zoom shots. It just grabbed the latest 200MP Persephone telephoto with the largest lens opening we’ve seen in years. The rest of the cameras are 50MP. The screen is 6.9” AMOLED, and the battery is 6800mAh with 90W charging.
Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is a different breed because it has a second screen on the back. This is also a 6.9” AMOLED build with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and all 50MP cameras. The Pro Max’s battery is 7500mAh, by the way. Its charging input is 100W. A 50W wireless charging option is given to both phones.
