Vivo Y50e and Y50s Listed on Google Play Console with Matching Model Numbers

The Vivo Y50 family is overwhelmingly populated with devices. And there are more coming. Vivo Y50s and Y50e are about to join the group, and we’ve found both of them on Google Play Console. The company has clearly begun the obligatory certification runs for these models, and we’ll get an occasional peep at their specs as they do so.

GPC’s supported devices list has just been updated. Apparently, the model number V2443A is a new inclusion there. It is very odd that both Y50s and Y50e share the same model number (see the screenshot by TheTechOutlook below).

It’s not just the Y50s and Y50e. There are more devices on the list, like the Y50i or Y50m, which have the same V2443A model number. These are clearly identical phones, yet the names are so different and confusing. We don’t see a hierarchy in the lineup either.

We digress. Vivo will probably try to clear the confusion when the Vivo new budget models, Y50s and Y50e are launched. There are no specs to be found in the database. But they are obviously comparable to the original Vivo Y50 5G. Its specs might help us guess the rest of their hardware details.

Vivo Y50 has a notched cutout on the front and a thick chin. It’s a 6.74” IPS LCD panel with only 570 nits of brightness. It’s not very sharp or bright. The newcomer does offer a fast 90Hz refresh rate as a consolation for crappy resolution. That cutout on the forehead only has a 5MP selfie.

At least they didn’t cheap out on the battery. The Y50 5G is built around a 6000mAh cell that you can plug into a 44W charger for refills. The design looked premium enough, and there’s a 13MP Main camera in one of the rear lenses. It was an Android 15 device, by the way.

This is yet another phone from Vivo built around a Dimensity 6300 chip. Maybe Y50s and Y50e will follow. The phone had an IP64 rating, safe from dust ingress and minor water splashes. SGS gave it a shockproof certification. Let’s see how closely Y50s and Y50e follow in the original device’s footsteps. Keep watching the news for updates.
