Vivo X500 Series Could Adopt Dual-Chip Strategy with Dimensity 9600 and 9600 Pro

Apple used to ship all its flagship devices with the same chipsets, so there was no performance disparity among the ranks. That doesn’t happen anymore. Apple has split its silicon into basic and Pro versions. Vivo has something similar in mind for the X500 series and the Dimensity 9600.

Yes, they are skipping the X400 branding, in case you were wondering. To the main story now. We know that the current X300 and X300 Pro both strap in the Dimensity 9500 SoC. You get the same CPU and gaming performance on either device.

There has been a leak, and it says MediaTek is working on two versions of its flagship 2026 chip. There’s the basic Dimensity 9600, and then there’s a faster Dimensity 9600 Pro. The leak source said the Latest Vivo Flagship models will be the first ones to grab these chipsets.

And the tipster also stated the obvious. The basic X500 should grab the vanilla Dimensity 9600 silicon. There will be a Vivo X500 Pro and Pro Max handset, and those versions will probably feature the Dimensity 9600 Pro. Apple Silicon started this thing. Android is following suit now.

We hear Qualcomm has something very similar in mind for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. A performance split is possible, but this claim requires further scrutiny. Anyway, we’ve been hearing a lot about the X500 series.

SmartPickachu isn’t the only one keeping track of this lineup. Another leaker said a bump in the battery capacity is expected on these phones. He gave a ballpark figure. Each X500 model could have a capacity of around 7,000 mAh. The max energy stored on the current X300 Pro is 6,500 mAh.

We treat all this info as mere speculation. There has been no official announcement from MediaTek or Vivo about these changes. So we advise you to do the same: take these leaks with a grain of salt until there is substantial proof of said claims. Keep watching the news for updates.
