The 5G version of the Spark 50 looked different. They’ve now launched the Tecno Spark 50 4G with a different design, and it truly mimics the iPhone look. This newcomer has a larger battery than the old version, but beyond that, the hardware is barely changed. This is everything you need to know.
The screen is just a tad larger at 6.78 inches. But it’s still just an HD+ 720p panel that pushes pixels at 120Hz speed. There’s a hole punch cutout on the IPS screen. That’s where its 8MP selfie camera lies. The bezels are quite noticeable, and the frame itself is quite thick at ~8.2mm (vs. 7.7mm Spark 40).
But the added thickness is worth it because of the massive battery. They have now installed a 7,000 mAh battery on the Tecno latest Spark model. It’s easily a two-day runner. There is, however, one caveat that you need to come to terms with. The charging speed has been downgraded from 45W to 18W.
There are barely any other upgrades to speak of. Spark 50 4G kept the same Helio G81 chip, so it’s a slower device from the get-go. There’s Android 16 as the phone’s default OS. Tecno AI Suite will get you the AI Translation tool. And it even throws in the AI call Noise Cancellation feature.
The FlashSnap 50MP main camera is back again with two other decorative lenses. The Spark 50 4G also passed SGS drop tests from 1.8 meters. An IP64 rating should keep this handset safe from water splashes or rain. The touch screen works flawlessly with Wet Hands.
Their big in-house calling feature is also back. Spark 50 4G has the FreeLink Call 2.0. This will let you connect with other peer devices in a 1.5 km range. You can do radio calls without needing a SIM or a carrier. Of course, this newcomer also has an infrared remote and a side fingerprint reader.
Spark 50 4G outputs sound from stereo speakers. The gyro works on the software level, so it will be slow. The newcomer also has 8GB RAM on the maxed-out version with 256GB storage.
