Last year’s Pova Curve will get replaced by a rather minimal-looking Tecno Pova Curve 2. The design has appeared officially, by the way. We no longer need to rely on the leaked renders for the phone’s preview. Unofficial key specs have also surfaced, and the launch date is set for February 13.
This is exactly how the phone looks in various colors. Silver, black, and purple are the three color options it’s supposed to debut with. Pova Curve 2 will probably hit the global market down the line, but initial distribution will begin in India. February 13 is the launch date for that region.
Anyway, we now know exactly what the Tecno new Pova model looks like. There’s a raised camera platform that we didn’t see on the last generation. It’s still an upside-down right triangle shape with three lenses sticking out. And a flash is placed in between.
We discovered from the leaked details that the main camera is 50MP, but the other two are unknown. The selfie shooter seems to be 13MP. There’s supposed to be a 7,750 mAh battery on this handset, but XpertPrix’s previous report pegged its (advertised) capacity to be 8,000 mAh.
The power pack is wired to a 45W charging kit, and the chassis is sealed tightly around it with an IP64 rating. Of course, the device itself will run on Android 16. Because this is a Tecno phone, the UI skin should be HiOS 16.
It is a 5G phone, as was the original Pova Curve. But this successor is downgraded for some reason. They dropped the Dimensity 7300 and used a new Dimensity 7100 SoC on the Pova Curve 2. The RAM still goes up to 12GB with either 128GB or 256GB storage (via XpertPrix).
It’s in the name, so it’s pretty obvious that the screen is a curved 6.78” AMOLED. The newcomer will run at a 1.5k resolution. All the leaks have foreshadowed a 144Hz refresh rate for it. This AMOLED panel may have been borrowed from the Pova Slim. Other specs will come out eventually, so stick around for updates.
