They are making a third foldable for the Galaxy Z series. It’s apparently a wide design that looks like the first Google Pixel Fold with a 7.6” screen. We found in a leak that the so-called Galaxy Z Wide Fold has a 5000mAh battery. A new report suggests a similar battery could be used on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 as well.
We’ve been hearing a lot of chatter about the Z Fold series upgrades. They haven’t touched the battery capacity in generations. So this might be a big year for Sammy fans. We must warn you that the Z Flip 8 may skip the power upgrade altogether. It will probably stick to the 4300mAh battery.
GalaxyClub has put a report on its site with details gathered from an insider. They allege a 13% larger battery on the Z Fold 8. Because the older Z Fold 7 has a 4400mAh capacity, the leaked figures add up to a 5000mAh cell. Here you can check out the new Samsung price list of all handsets available in the Pakistani market.
If this leak is true, you are in for a treat this year. Galaxy Z Fold 8 has the largest battery we’ve seen in the standard Z Fold series. We know that the TriFold has a far bigger 5600mAh cell, but that’s an exception. They haven’t made it clear whether a next-gen product will be made.
By the way, you shouldn’t get your hopes up about the charging speed upgrade just because the battery is a little bigger. Samsung is notoriously behind others in that area. The maximum wattage for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 would be 25W, according to some reports.
Samsung will probably put all its energy into refining the Z Fold 8. The design might not have any big changes. They’ll keep using the 6.5” outer screen and an OLED 8” panel on the inside. Oppo has found a way to eliminate the crease from its folding device. Samsung could do something similar.
Of course, the Z Fold 8 will throw in the usual set of yearly upgrades. They have a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and 12GB LPDDR5X RAM prepared for use. There’s possibly a 256GB base storage on this newcomer. The Z Fold 8 could feature Android 17 from the get-go. Keep watching the news for updates.
