Samsung Galaxy S26 FE was launched today, right on schedule. The price is higher this time for the starter option, and it still includes only 128GB of storage. This newcomer has far better performance with the new chip, and its camera has many new AI features borrowed from the original S26 trio.
They haven’t changed much on hardware. S26 FE is basically the same device, but the customary chipset upgrade bumped it from Exynos 2400e to the newer Exynos 2500, which is a decacore 3.3GHz platform with 3nm architecture. Consider this phone a flagship from the 2025 era.
The screen hasn’t changed at all on the Samsung new S model. They’ve reused the 6.7” Dynamic AMOLED. It’s FHD+ 1080p resolution. The pixels are pushed at 120Hz. And the peak brightness hits 1900 nits on the AMOLED, rated for HDR10+ support. Everything you see here was present on the S25 FE.
Samsung has put the same 4900mAh battery on the handset. And it’s not a Si/C cell either, like some rumors predicted. There’s 45W wired power delivery, and the phone has a 15W wireless coil on the back as well. The phone comes with Dex support, by the way.
Then comes the camera. Nothing has been upgraded hardware-wise. This newcomer has the same 50MP main + 12MP Ultrawide + 8MP 3X telephoto setup. There’s the same 12MP selfie shooter as well. But they did add Super Steady with Horizon Lock and MyFanCam AI tools in the camera app to spice it up.
One UI 9 comes by default on the Galaxy S26 FE, which means it’s running Android 17 out of the box. This makes Now Brief more customizable, and there are a few added features on the Galaxy AI Call Assist as well. Call Brief and Noise Cancellation are two of them.
The newcomer still has a fingerprint reader on the screen (optical). There are two speakers for stereo audio, and a WiFi 6e module is installed on the mobo. IP68 rating makes the Galaxy S26 FE waterproof from all angles. And they commit to 7 years of OS updates. The base model starts at an 8/128GB combo for $699 (~PKR 194,000).
