This January 2026 security patch was seen in Korea almost two weeks ago. But now it’s on the move globally for the Galaxy A55. Coincidentally, it also fixes 55 vulnerabilities in the current One UI firmware. This is all you need to know about Galaxy A55’s new patch update.
The South Korean market had a different patch number, but now the update is deployed in Europe with the build number A556BXXSCCZA1. You can see it right in the name: the patch is strictly for the Galaxy A55 (SM-A556B). That’s the global version of the handset.
They haven’t stated any intention to drop the January 2026 security patch to the Pakistani Galaxy A55s. But it’s only a matter of time before they do. Anyway, Samsung is said to fix 55 weak points in the system A55 is currently running, and they’ve subcategorized them.
We are told that 23 of them are from Google for the core Android 16 OS within this device. And there are at least 4 of them that the Samsung Semiconductor division has deployed with this new January patch.
The major portion and the remaining vulnerabilities are getting fixed by Samsung itself. Apparently, of all the patches deployed, 28 of them are high risk. So you must quickly update the Samsung latest 5G mobile as soon as you see the January 2025 patch in the Settings.
You’ll see the patch in the Software Update menu in the Settings. Samsung has to unlock the update in our region first. We are sure that Pakistani A55 will grab this patch soon enough. Only a few simple steps are needed when you get the update alert.
Go to Settings and Software Updates menu. And push Check for Updates, if the patch update and changelog aren't there already. Once the changelog is shown, you can press Download & Install and let the phone reboot to finish the process. The phone will obviously grab more updates in the future. Keep watching the news.
