Samsung Galaxy A53 Enters Mass Production; IP Rating, New Chip, and More

The sequel to Samsung Galaxy A52, one of the brand's bestsellers, is debuting soon. The official launch timeline is still unclear, but the Galaxy A53 has just entered mass production. Through a string of leaks and product certifications, the rumor mill has already given us the specs and design for the Galaxy A53.

91Mobiles, a credible publication, reports that the Samsung Galaxy A53 is mass-produced at the Greater Noida facility in India — Samsung's largest smartphone factory. So it's likely that the Galaxy A53 will debut there before it's rolled out elsewhere.

Since it's a popular phone, Samsung is playing it safe with the Galaxy A53, except for the 3.5mm headphone jack that's gone missing. Samsung is also ditching the LTE variant, meaning the Galaxy A53 will come in a single 5G edition. The rest of the Galaxy A53 is a conservative iterative upgrade over this year's Galaxy A52.

The phone is rated IP67 against dust and water — a feature that's rarely seen in this Samsung mobile price bracket. And it must have been a hit because Samsung is securing IP ratings for more A-series phones next year, including but not limited to the Galaxy A33.

The engine at the heart of the Galaxy A53 is an unannounced Exynos chipset. It's a new generation of Exynos platforms that use AMD GPUs. These new chips are rumored to resolve the overheating issues that plague Samsung's SoCs.

Everything runs on a 5000 mAh battery. The camera system has a 64MP primary lens. Plus, the camera island has been slightly redesigned. Samsung Galaxy A53 comes in white, black, pale blue, and orange colors.
